| Tate... the pics do look rather lickable... I think that's right Tate, the outside is a meringue like shell and the inside is like moist soft marshmallow. Crikey I wanna go bake one now... I guess my culinary skills would be up to the job... I did ok in chemistry class, a lot of that was more or less following a recipe... | |

| Those pics are great... but licking the screen doesnt taste the same. I think in the US you have something called meringue... its very similar i think (could be wrong, its been known to happen). And trance was right, Kiwi friut is the best topping with passionfriuit, strawberries and freshly whipped cream.
By the way trance, you do need to realise now that you owe me a Pav.. right??

| 3 egg whites (large) ¼ teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons cold water ½ teaspoon vanilla essence 1 cup castor sugar (it's like finely ground sugar, but not icing sugar) 1 teaspoon white vinegar 1 tablespoon cornflour
Line an 8 inch loose bottomed cake tin with greaseproof paper. Butter the paper well. Preheat oven to 325º F Beat egg whites until stiff. Add water and beat again until stiff. Add salt, and add sugar a tablespoon at a time, beating thoroughly between each addition. Sprinkle vanilla, vinegar and cornflour over mixture and beat again until blended. Hold the prepared tin under running cold water for a few seconds to coat the paper with drops of water. Spoon mixture into paper, making a slight depression in the centre. Place in oven at 325º F for 5 minutes, then turn oven off and leave for 1½ hours. When cold, garnish with whipped cream and strawberries. (we often use sliced kiwifruit too)
